How fried food affects your mental Health

Lately, I have been obsessed with the topic of Nutrition and through reading several pieces of research, which are backed up with authentic facts, logical analysis and several tried & tested method, it is proven that the right Nutrition could be the key solution to most our problems.


Let's read quick notes without getting in dept of the biochemistry of our body's complex mechanism.

Though the topic of nutrition is vast, yet its a very important topic of our life because our well being & quality of life depends on how fit we are mentally, physically and of course not to forget spiritually.


Many of us are huge food lovers and I am a big foodie too!

To be honest, it is pretty difficult to control food cravings and eat bland healthy foods when we grow up eating fried spicy savory foods until we experience the ill effects of it.


I was a lively fun-loving naughty creature of my house but soon smiles started to disappear, frustration, mood swings, anger bursts became a norm. People usually saw me drenched in tears.



Initially, they used to empathize, but later my behavioral issues became a disappointment for many around me because they didn't find a reason for my sadness and depression until I was diagnosed with severe psychological issues which were the cause of my unappealing behavior.

Back then, I was prescribed with loads of antidepressants & anti-psychotic which I took for years to be able to live a stable and blissful life. Alhumdulliha I am recovered by Allah's grace and incredible family support but now it intrigues me to research & learn as to what factors lead to an imbalance in brain chemicals which disturbs its mechanism to function efficiently.


Out of the many that I found, one of the key factors is food.

To all my dear readers, if you feel low, sad or cranky very often, kindly swap your food choices to healthier ones and you will certainly notice a big difference in your mood and overall mental health.

  1. Fried Food

  2. Refined flour and sugar

  3. Highly processed and packaged foods

The above listed, truly cause havoc to our overall health


But before anything else, stress is a bigger factor, so kindly do not stress over between the dos and don't s of eating because anything out of force which is incorporated in life will not work for long so it's wiser to analyze, understands the harms and willingly eradicate the bad habits from your life.


A survey was conducted among 1324 teenagers from 200-2003 to assess their mental health. Two dietary patterns were identified between Western diet and healthy food. Results showed a big relation between depression and western diet which included takeaways, processed red meat whereas there was significant good and stable behavior found in teens who consumed leafy vegetables.
